Crossing the Lava River

At volcanic sunset, quick little Rex and strong sturdy Bula reach a glowing lava river they can't cross. Rex can't push the heavy boulder; Bula can't leap the wide gap. Stuck and afraid as night falls, they finally have the same idea — "You push, I'll hop!" — and discover that strong arms and quick feet together are just enough to cross the whole river.

Wide establishing shot at warm sunset: the prehistoric fern valley with the glowing orange lava river winding across, distant smoking volcano; Rex and Bula are small figures standing on the near bank. Sense that night is coming.

Medium action shot: Rex taking a running leap and tumbling back onto the same warm rock on the near bank; Bula watching; the wide glowing lava river between them and the far side, faint heat shimmer in the air.

But the Glowing River was too wide to jump, and far too hot to wade. Rex took a running start and LEAPED — but landed back on the same warm rock with a tumble. The other side felt as far away as the moon.
