The Harvest Gate of Coralbell City opens only when its two keys turn at exactly the same moment — one held by strong young Anchor the crab, the other by quick little Skip the shrimp. Turn them out of step, the elders warn, and the whole gate seizes shut for a full tide cycle. Then a sly eel named Slink whispers to each that they could manage the gate alone. This cycle, the gate's Key of Strength had been entrusted to young Anchor the crab, whose claws were the strongest on the whole reef. He wore the heavy stone key on a cord around his shell and could not stop admiring it.
