The Peacock's New Colors

Pavo the peacock loves showing off his dazzling tail-fan — until a great gust of wind blows his feathers clean away. Crestfallen and plain, he hides, then notices the petals, leaves and pebbles all around and invents a brand-new way to shine: a giant glittering Flower-Fan and a new dance. He learns his dazzle was never in his tail at all, but in his bright new ideas.

At the sunny zoo, the peacocks were famous for one dazzling thing: their tail-fans, bright as a hundred rainbows. And no one loved to show off his fan more than a young peacock named Pavo.
