The Cloud Who Was Afraid to Rain

In the dreamy cloud kingdom, where the sky turns lavender, peach and gold, the littlest cloud — Nimbo — has a secret: he is too scared to rain. Every time it is his turn, that scary, tickly drop in his tummy sends him floating quietly away. But far below, the flower fields have wilted and the little creatures are looking up, hoping and hoping for rain. When Nimbo just can't let go, kind Granny Cumulus drifts close and whispers that being brave isn't never being scared — it's being scared and trying anyway. So Nimbo takes the deepest breath he can, closes his eyes, and lets the rain fall at last. Down it comes, soft and silver: the flowers bloom, the stream sings, a rainbow arches across the sky — and Nimbo learns that his courage was hiding, all along, inside one deep breath.

A wide view of the dreamy Cloud Kingdom at warm twilight — soft cloud hills, fluffy cloud bridges and a great pastel rainbow arch in a lavender, peach and gold sky, with a rising crescent moon and the first star.

High above the world, where the sky turns pink and gold, floats the Cloud Kingdom — soft hills of cloud, fluffy bridges, and a great rainbow arch. As the first star peeked out, the clouds drifted gently home.

Little Nimbo, a small fluffy white cloud with a shy, scared little face, floats away to one side while the bigger clouds gently sprinkle soft rain.

Nimbo was the littlest cloud of all. The big clouds could rain whenever they liked. But not Nimbo. Whenever it was his turn, he felt a scary, tickly drop in his tummy — and floated quietly away.
