The Shortcut That Wasn't
Carrying glowing star-dew to Lamp Peak, the wind-sprite Wisp takes a sparkly shortcut through the Grumble-clouds instead of the long Rainbow Road. Lost and tangled in the grey muddle, he stops, floats up to see clearly, and chooses the wiser marked path — reaching the peak in time to light the whole Cloud Kingdom, and learning the shiniest path isn't always the smart one.
There were two ways to go. One was the long, winding Rainbow Road that everyone used. The other was a sparkly little gap that cut straight through the Grumble-clouds — and oh, it looked SO much faster.
